Job Summary

The Financial Analyst provides support in the areas of budget, billing, reporting, and financial management for IT initiatives. Analyzes an organization's performance and capabilities in areas such as order management, credit, invoicing and dispute management. Works with customers to define and implement process, technology, and organizational improvements.  Supports the definition of government financial business practices and incorporate processes into an automated solution. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assists in applying sound accounting and data processing principles. Integrates government financial business practices.
  • Identifies potential problems and solutions through analysis and recommends solutions.
  • Works with customers and applies best practices to effectively automate requirements.
  • Applies applications, while adhering to established accounting principles and practices.
  • The Financial Analyst will work at the FEMA Headquarters. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Finance degree, preferably an MBA from an accredited graduate school of business with a concentration in business
  • Certifications preferred: Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, or ITIL
  • Highly proficient utilizing current versions of Excel and PowerPoint programs
  • In-depth understanding of FEMA Mobility and telecommunications program financial processes and procedures
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in an environment with dynamically changing priorities
  • Available outside of normal business hours as needed by the government
