Job Summary

The Data Analyst will support the United States Coast Guard Data Cleanup and migration effort. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve on projects related to data cleansing and migration in support of large organizational financial management/core accounting system migration in the Oracle Federal Financial Software Suite
  • The Data Analyst will work on site at the United States Coast Guard Headquarters

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • BS or BA in Information Systems/Information Technology, Accounting, Business, or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years experience 
  • DHS Public Trust/background check (will need to be completed before starting if the candidate does not already have one)
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle database/products including any of the following:SQL & PL/SQL - Must be proficient in writing and modifying PL/SQL procedures, functions and packages
  • COTS data migration experience (one COTS package to another)
  • ETL / Data warehousing experience
  • TOAD / SQL Developer
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle Financials (technical, Federal experience preferred) or other COTS packages such as PRISM, Sunflower
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team in a dynamic, client support environment
  • Demonstrated analytical skills: analyzing large data sets for trends, anomalies, duplication and erroneous data.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project​

 EXPERIENCE/SKILLS DESIRED:

  • IT experience at a Federal agency supporting financial operations.Accounting training/experience
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),Federal budget process, Federal accounting structure, United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
