Job Summary

The PEO Director will be responsible for assisting in standing up a Professional Employment Organization (PEO) unit within Subsidium.  The Director will be developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects.The Director must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning all HR departments. The PEO Director should be able to manage programs and lead staff while also possessing a strong strategic mindset. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing PEO objectives in line with organizational objectives
  • Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations
  • Manages PEO operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change
  • Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities, communicating and coordinating requirements, evaluating milestone accomplishments, and evaluating optional courses of action
  • Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation
  • Manages the development and maintenance of the PEO sections of both the Internet, particularly recruiting, culture, and company information; and Intranet sites
  • Defines all Human Resources training programs, and assigns the authority / responsibility of Human Resources and managers within those programs
  • Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports
  • Establishes an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfer
  • Assists managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants
  • Oversee company’s Facility and Personal security programs
  • Oversees IT support and HelpDesk

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development. (Master’s degree Preferred)
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.(Preferred)
  • 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement, preferred
  • Director will need a Business Process and Lean Six Sigma background. (Familiarization with IT and Help Desk requirements are a plus)
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop PEO staff members
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources .programs
  • Understands and has some experience in the PEO concept
