Job Summary:
Subsidium is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to support the US Navy Fleet Systems Engineering Team (FSET) and serve as a senior technical advisor to the embarked Staff N6 and shore site Technical Directors, providing tier III level troubleshooting of NAVWAR Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, and providing over-the-shoulder training and training to US Navy Military personnel. The Systems Engineer shall provide tier III level-troubleshooting efforts, as a support agent to military personnel, to restore system and/or network malfunctions, prevent and address vulnerabilities, and maintain system/network readiness. This may also include assisting in coordinating on board technical assistance from Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC) and/or In-Service Engineering Activities (ISEAs) and Software Support Activities (SSAs).
Salary - $110,000 to $115,000

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end NAVWAR C4ISR system engineering services to CSGs, ESGs, and ARGs during all phases of the Optimized Fleet Response Plan (OFRP) cycle (i.e. Maintenance, Basic, Integrated, Advanced, Sustainment). Other platforms supported include Force and Unit Level ships and Military Sealift Command ships during operations, exercises, defense support to civil agencies, and humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
- At the waterfront, coordinate support with the regional FSET AOR Lead and participate in engagements related to system optimization, troubleshooting, and Speed-to-Capability (STC) technology insertion initiatives.
- Embark with the Staff N6 in support of exercises and operations conducted by Fleet and/or Joint Task Force (JTF) Commanders.
- At the discretion of FRD, provide embarked support to individual deployers not assigned to a strike group.
- Participate in Government sponsored training.
- During strike group deployments, act as a Senior Technical Advisor to the Staff N6 or Command ships.
- Participate in engagements pertaining to C4I system/network capabilities, maintenance, optimization, and STC technology insertion.
- During installations or modernization, assist Ship’s Force (SF) with technical expertise to ensure the new capability is functional and interoperable with the existing architecture.
- During outages or degradations, support SF in restoring network/system functionality and interoperability in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and NAVWAR baselines.
- Assist SF with communications with local RMC, and NAVWAR ISEA.
- If On-Board Technical Assistance (OBTA) from the RMC and ISEA arrive, continue to provide support to SF if necessary.
- At the discretion of the strike group Staff N6 and/or Command ship, support Force and Unit Level ships within the strike group.
- Communicate status of on-board system casualties affecting mission capabilities to the FRD 100 Fleet Readiness Officers and the FSET Government AOR Leads.
- Provide over-the-shoulder training throughout all phases of the OFRP cycle in support of Sailor self-sufficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) or 8+ years technical experience in related discipline required.
- IAT2 certifications required for IA (Security+ CE or equivalent) required. IAT2 for OS highly desired.
- Windows Server, CISCO and VMWare training/certifications highly desired.
- 6+ years of experience with DoD enterprise or Navy networks. Fleet experience highly desired.
- 6+ years of experience in troubleshooting networks and operating system issues across multiple systems.
- IAT2 certifications required for IA (Security+ CE or equivalent) required. IAT2 for OS highly desired
- Windows Server, CISCO and VMWare training/certifications highly desired.
- Must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment.
- Must be able to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity for IT systems, involving multiple sites and multiple systems.
- Must be able to provide on-job-training to technical personnel.
- Must be able to read, understand and interpret technical documentation, schematics, SOPs, and other documents relating to the operation and configuration of Navy C4I Systems.
- Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technical personnel.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including shipboard deployments of 8-12 weeks and overseas travel. Premium pay will be paid for underway periods. Other than normal working hours may be required.
- Significant short/no notice travel in support of ad hoc Fleet requirements can be expected.
