Job Summary:
Subsidium is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to support to the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Base Information Transport (GBIT) Command, Control, Computer, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) for real-world operations and exercises onboard U.S. Naval Station (NAVSTA), Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, its tenant commands and other Department of Defense and U.S. Government agencies. This includes Joint Task Force Guantanamo’s Terrorist Detainment Operations, Office of Military Commissions and the Department of Homeland Security’s Migrant Operations. GBIT communications/ connectivity requires Tier 2-4 support as well as Information Assurance (IA) execution support at NCTAMS LANT Detachment Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (NCTL DET GTMO). Provides support for configuration management and accreditation of systems. Frequently develops, reviews, or updates documentation. Travel may be required (5%).
Salary: $118,000-$123,000

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical subject matter expertise with resolving Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) transport networking issues across the entire system equipment string.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise and training in support of implementing authorized Information Assurance (IA) initiatives. Develop system architecture documents addressing systems and network infrastructure requirements.
- Assist the customer with the validation and execution of disaster recovery and system restoral procedures, rapid response for emergent issues and network documentation and training as required.
- Provide on-site engineering and technical support for the integration of Information Technology (IT) hardware and software upgrades at NCTL DET GTMO.
- Candidate must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment.
- Work will be in computer facilities at NCTL DET GTMO. In order to provide required service to customer base, work at times other than normal work week hours will be required to participate in meetings, troubleshooting efforts, and installations.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) or 8+ years technical experience in related discipline required.
- 6+ years of experience with DoD enterprise or Navy networks. Fleet experience highly desired.
- 6+ years of experience in troubleshooting networks and operating system issues across multiple systems.
- IAT Certs: Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP or higher level and an OS certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01M. IAT-II certification required.
- Windows Server, CISCO and VMWare training/certifications highly desired.
- CCNA or CCNP certifications highly desired; or equivalent training may be authorized.
- Must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity for IT systems, involving multiple sites and multiple systems.
- Must be able to provide on-job-training to technical personnel.
- Must be able to read, understand and interpret technical documentation, schematics, SOPs, and other documents relating to the operation and configuration of Navy C4I Systems.
- Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technical personnel.
- This is an unaccompanied billet. Assignment to Guantanamo Bay does not permit families to accompany the employee.
- Shared base housing provided. Hardship premium, COLA, and relocation reimbursement (airfare/taxi – no HHG) provided.
